Nesting / Sewing

Well I am supposedly 1 week from my due date today and I think this kid has decided to hold it's arms and legs out and hang on for dear life! I am still carrying way too high and no real symptoms of impending labor. Where is my magic crystal ball so I can get some predictions?
~
Anyhow I have been busy sewing, which must be my way of nesting because I sure don't feel like cleaning. Never have liked house work, hah! But I found a pattern for making your own pack and play sheet. Click here for the link. It's a really cute site with lots of other great ideas.

So these are the two sheets I made with fabric I happened to already have. You can't really see on the tan one but it's little outlines of a tree branch. This was so easy and simple, if you have a sewing machine you can do this!

The plaid fabric is so soft!

Next I got really adventurous and sewed a cover for my changing pad out of an old terry towel. Mom, you got me these as a wedding present! This is the underside for proof, there is a decorative band from the bottom of the towel. Again this was really easy. And best of all no cost.... I had the supplies on hand. These covers are usually around $10.00. Now I have money to buy the baby a new pair of shoes!!!! Hee hee.

Here is the finished cover in action on the free Jenny Lind changing table I just scored. Woot! See the itty bitty diaper up top? I can't believe how tiny they are compared to my just turned 3 year old giant diapers. Lord, I wish she just get her act together and decide she doesn't want to wear diapers anymore but her will is stronger than mine. Again, I need a crystal ball.

I also decorated number shirts for my girlfriend's kids upcoming birthdays and some for my kids too. I'm considering opening an etsy shop and selling these. Do you think people would buy them?

Lastly I made a baby doll sling for Stuntwoman so she can be like Mommy when the baby is being worn in Momma's sling. Link for this pattern here .

Happy Monday and Happy Sewing if you try any of this out!

Still here....

I'm still here....
Here is my view looking down on my bump.
Hey, where did my feet go?

At least my toes are ready with a new pedicure!

Here's how big my belly has gotten.

At my last check up this past Friday the doctor said there was no change. No dilation, nothing. I am 2 weeks from full term but had deliveries with the other kids at 38 weeks and 39 and a half weeks. This kid is holding it's poker cards close.

The other night we went out to dinner at a steakhouse for the "last supper" and had the kids with babysitter. After we got home Daddy took his boots off and Stuntwoman modeled them. Look at that silly grin!

The most excitement we had this weekend was Chuck E Cheese and some popsicles and water play outside it was 85 degrees here. Thank goodness I don't have to be pregnant much longer in this heat!

Also I got the baby seat cleaned up and ready to go. We tested it out with out our newest Six Flags prize. Th-th-th-that's all folks!

Sunday Verse

John 15:1-2,5,8

I am the vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit He takes away: and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit.

Tired

Hello Blogland, I'm still here.... just dog-tired at almost 37 weeks pregnant and feeling ready to pop! Chasing after 2 energetic preschoolers is cramping my desire to nest and nap!!! I have just been too tired to post anything but wanted to say "Hello" to anyone dropping by. Hope things are good in your little corner of the world!

Sunday Verse

Matthew 6:25-34

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith. So do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat, what shall we drink, or what shall we wear?" Your heavenly Father knows what you need. Seek ye first his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own.

Third Birthday = Pinkalacious

My terrible two year old became a feisty three year old today. Here she is modeling her birthday outfit made by Momma!

We based the party on one of her favorite books called Pinkalicous by Victoria Kann. The story is about a little girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and develops pinkitis. The doctor tells her to cure this condition she will have to eat green. It is a darling book, there is also a purpalicous and goldalicous story as well by the author.

We enjoyed bouncing in the backyard.

A friend helped read the story to the kids while I got the food set up. (Mom you can see my garden space to the left...I promise I'll take a picture at some point...maybe when it is more mature.) And the bubble machine was a big hit as well.

We colored some pinkalicous coloring pages from the author's site. The expression on my daughter's face was more her demeanor for most of the party. She had several meltdowns and blow ups!!! Lord help me when she is a teenager.

We had a pinkeriffic spread with strawberry applesauce and cupcakes, pink lemonade and some animal crackers and goldfish. And some green grapes and green veggies to make sure we didn't turn pink from the pink goodies.

The cupcakes were the hit of the day!

Many dress up outfits were received by her highness!

Brother was a good sport about all the pink.

One tired girl at the end of the party having a snuggle with Daddy. I was able to get pinkalicious crowns from Burger King several weeks ago as a party favor for everyone, which was really fun to add to the theme of the party. Shhh, don't tell Daddy...he's anti fast-food...but this gal was having a whopper jr. craving! And it's a good thing, aren't those crowns super cute?

Happy Third Birthday Miss Pinkalicious!

Blast from the past

So my Sister took these engagement pictures for us Spring of 2002 out at her property in her bluebonnets. Her bluebonnets are in bloom and she sent a picture via e-mail and this made me nostalgic to look up these photos.

I am a little perplexed by the adorable young couple there and where did they go? Have we really aged that much???

This last one was taken by our wedding phototgrapher. It reminds me of high school senior portraits for some reason. Still it turned out cute.

So what flowers are blooming where you are???

Belly Laugh

All the kids play balls had become deflated and I finally got a pump and filled them back up. When the kids woke up the other morning to discover new air filled balls the first thing they did was imitiate Mama's pregnant belly! It was a hoot!!!
