Yesterday while on an errand a lady was charmed by the cuteness of my daughter and was socializing with her. Stuntwoman was chillin in the stroller but sat up and exclaimed to the woman "You have bling bling." The woman didn't understand 2 year old speak so I translated. She likes your earrings! To which the lady laughed and proceeded to show her nails with glitter to her as well. Thank goodness she wasn't impressed by that! I wish I had taught my young un the term necklace or pretty pretty which she will repeat but her first choice is to say bling bling and it is rather eye opening and hair raising when she shreiks loudly for it. It is fun to see her have a girly girly side and yet be a stuntwoman daredevil keeping up with big brother.

Bling Bling
The super saver thrift store had a boat load of indian bangle bracelets for cheap. Miss Stuntwoman is all about the bling! Here she is modeling her fisher price baby links and her bangles. She likes to mix it up and be bold with her fashion savy self. I called her Auntie Kathy last night to let her know that at church last week she was playing with the little tikes workshop and power tools. I knew her Aunt would be super proud and would get a kick out of this next story.

Plate update
Wow, the internet never ceases to amaze me. Dear reader you must know, I mourned the loss of my little plate more and more. I did some searching and discovered a replacement identical.
And a heftier price tag. But WOW! So I called the appliance company and explained my dilemma. The repair person had not reported they had broken my plate.
I asked was it possible that they replace it. And expected to be told "No".

But turns out they were willing to do so and told me to go ahead and get it! How cool is that?!? And I had thrifted today because Goodwill was having 50% off and found 3 lovely pyrex pieces and a scenic Nova Scotia plate that will be a nice momento of an upcoming trip we are planning this summer. I am happy things worked out! Hooray for people and businesses who do the right thing.

Fabulous fabric
A week or so ago I came across an amazing stash of fabric at Salvation Army. And the prices were so good per yard/metre that I snatched it all up!
Look on the right and see the old cutting tag! How fun is that!!!
I debated over this one but in the end it was a huge piece of corduroy and for the price I had to rescue it.

I have visions of making table cloths, placemats, tote bags and pillow cases. Oh my!

I really adore this one. I wonder about who this belonged to and what were the projects she had in mind. There are a couple other pics I didn't post and sadly some I left because I was getting carried away. And yes Mom, I did give the kids a lolly whilst this fabric frenzy of shopping occurred this was my big thrifting score and those suckers were gonna help me get the job done!

Sadly I paid more for this piece than the original cutting tag. But I love it and can't decide table cloth or tote bag? Any suggestions.

Thrifty fun
Internet I have another new addiction besides bento, it's thrifting! For several weeks I've been looking at vintage stuff on other blogs and just had to go get me some crap to call my own. It's special cause it's from Canada! At least that is what I tell myself to permit my crazy thrifting habit.
I love the vintage charm of this plate and thought it was a neat reminder of our time living here. Dear Hubby noticed it in the kitchen where I had put it and commented right away. "I didn't know you were a flowery person". Well, not on a couch or wallpaper. Yuck!
I saw a blog about vintage pyrex and when I found this sweet number at the salvation army it jumped into my cart for 3.99. Bonus it says Pyrex England. How cool is that?

I adore this swiss dot fabric (1.99 one yard) and think it would be a great skirt I can wear while serving something fabulous in my new pyrex dish. I'll match so divinely... Betty Crocker eat your heart out!

How about this sweet toaster cover and .99 cents! It just screams Happy Homemaker to me. Maybe my children will want to eat breakfast if I make them toast every morning!

I thought the embroidery on this was cute and it will make a cute apron or just be something fun to have at Christmas cheering my spirits. Although you can't see the lighter thread is silvery. And below is another piece found with it at the same time....
